Katherine Wagner the creator of Woodlandlace creates small tactile sculptural companions and abstract landscapes by investigating the relationship between one’s connection to their perceived surroundings. In doing so, Katherine aims to create a better understanding to the natural environment around us through her work. By drawing inspiration from the realism and abstract expressionism movement, and she utilize the influences from the local flora, fauna, and folklore of the region. She further investigates these relationships using various fiber and textile mediums, such as needle felting, weaving, dying and sewing.
